What is Rocketdyne? And why does it matter to us today? Quite simply, it is a huge outdoor facility called the Santa Susana Field Laboratory located in the hills above Simi Valley, California that conducted rocket testing and experimental nuclear work for decades. Partial nuclear meltdowns, including the worst in the history of the country, radiation accidents and dumping, along with million of gallons of toxic chemicals used and dumped at the site have created an environmental nightmare that we have been fighting since 1989.
